About this tour
The Van Gaalen Kaasmakerij Cheese Tour, on a family farm at the foot of the Magaliesberg just outside Pretoria, is a charming Agriculture excursion for Grade 1–12 learners. It is the only working Dutch-style cheese farm of its kind within easy reach of Gauteng schools.
Learners will enjoy:
• A guided tour of the cheese production process • An interactive cheese tasting experience • A slice of Dutch apple cake and a fruit juice
The experience ties agriculture, food science and small-business value chains together in a memorable, hands-on outing.
