This combo school tour pairs the Wonder Cave with the Bothongo Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, deep in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site just outside Johannesburg, Gauteng. It is a CAPS-aligned Life Sciences and Geography excursion for Grade 1–12 learners and runs on weekdays.
Inside the Wonder Cave, learners descend into a vast dolomitic chamber filled with stalactites and stalagmites — a real-world lesson on cave formation, dolomite geology and the wider Cradle landscape. The reserve then offers a guided game drive past lions, rhinos and a host of plains game.
