About this tour
The Lesedi Cultural Village school tour, in the Cradle of Humankind just outside Johannesburg in Gauteng, is a Heritage and History excursion for Grade 1–12 learners. The village is known as “the cradle of the living African cultures” and offers a vivid taste of South Africa's diverse heritage.
Learners will experience:
• 09h00 — Welcoming with a traditional song • A drumming session • A multi-visual short film and presentation • A guided tour of the four ethnic villages: Zulu, Xhosa, Pedi and Sotho • A traditional African dance show in the Boma • Optional lunch (between 11h00 and 12h00): Pap, wors, gravy and Oros juice
