About this tour

The Honey Bee Education Centre school tour is a delightful Life Sciences and Natural Sciences excursion suitable for all ages — Foundation through Senior phase. Set within easy reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria in Gauteng, it puts learners face to face with one of the planet's most important pollinators.

Learners will discover:

• The role of the honeybee in nature • How honeybees affect the environment • The duties of the honeybee inside and outside of the hive • The dangers faced by honeybees • The life cycle of the honeybee • Dressing up time (optional) • Meeting an expert beekeeper and learning about the role he plays • A tour of the honey extraction room

Please note: Maximum of 150 learners per day.
