Sci-Enza Science Centre
South Africa's oldest interactive science centre on the University of Pretoria campus — hands-on exhibits across physics, maths and biology.
About this tour
The Sci-Enza Science Centre school tour, on the University of Pretoria campus in Gauteng, is South Africa's oldest interactive science centre and a CAPS-aligned Maths, Science and Technology excursion for Grade 1–12 learners. Run by UP's Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, it is built for hands-on curriculum support.
Learners enjoy a science show with experiments in the Auditorium, followed by a hands-on experience on the exhibition floor — learners can play with the science exhibits across physics, mathematics, biology, optics and electricity (pulleys, mirrors, illusions, sound and electrical circuits) — and then head up to the Camera Obscura to have a look out over Pretoria. Science demonstrators guide every station to the right phase, and being on a working university campus subtly plants seeds about STEM careers.
Wilrien School Tours handles the full educational excursion package: bus transport (if required) from your school, Sci-Enza entry, professional guiding and teacher support — making it one of the most requested Science school tours in Gauteng.
